Role of Technology in Shaping Our Future - My entry

Greetings to all and sundry on this platform, it has been a while since I participated in the Ecency Star contest and today I am glad to write and share my entry here with you all. It is with great interest that I am participating in this week's challenge. After being inactive for about five days when we had an internet blackout in the whole country including other countries such as Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and many others. I am grateful that today, the MTN network has been able to function better and we can now write and post here.

Today we shall be looking at the role of technology in shaping our future. Technology has become the order of the day when a new day passes by. We are in a world where technology is advanced every day and everything is being moved into technology. Today we can't do anything without technology being implemented in it one way or the other. I used to say a child grown from a village where there is no technological advancement is doomed in this world.

From our homes to the workplace, schools, hospitals, stadia, etc, are all full of technological tools and equipment. We need to start teaching our children at a very early age how to use the technology they see around them every day. Schools should also make it a point to teach these students about technological advancement and its benefits and uses so they can fully enjoy its benefits.

I believe soon, technology will take over the world and we shall experience the best and fastest ways of doing things. Technology has already bridged the gap between distance communication where we have to send letters from one place to another which takes longer days than we would have wanted to. Now, one can comfortably sit in your room and let that happen in a few seconds.

We have seen a lot of new technologies in the health sector as well, where Doctors don't have to undergo a lot of tedious screening to identify what is wrong with a patient. A lot of technological tools have been developed that help Doctors to easily diagnose a patient faster and more efficiently. Although we understand that technology has brought a lot of benefits, we need to understand that it comes with some bad aspects of its usage as well.

We have seen cases whereby people use these technologies in fraudulent activities and also scam others. Some also use it to visit unnecessary websites which doesn't benefit them in any way. We need to harness the way we use these technologies especially we have to be careful with how our children use them. They have to be monitored to make sure that they don't abuse their usage.

I believe the world would surely be shaped in a better and right way if we tend to use these technologies in the right way instead of using them to threaten ourselves. We can build a better world if we all agree to make good use of these technologies in a better way. Thank you all for your time and attention.
