Greetings to all and sundry here in this noble community of hive, I am very delighted to write and share with you all my first post here in this community. I promise to make it a point to be more active here by engaging, upvoting, and also writing posts here as well. Today I would be sharing the experience I had with the practical session we had in school.

Practicals are tutorials or physical teaching and learning that help us to have a complete understanding of what we learn from the books. As a biochemist, I think we need to always put what we learn in class into practice always and as such I do not always like to miss any practical session or lessons in school.

We do not have these practical courses separate from our regular courses which involve reading and other stuff. Mostly we do two practical courses each semester which includes a chemistry practical and a biochemistry practical. These courses help us to get enlightened with more practical works rather than the mere knowledge we get from reading the materials given.

We have had several practical lessons and today I would be sharing why you guys had one of them and this one was about titration. Titration involves the procedure of measuring or identifying the concentration of a known analyte. We did this practical after our third week of resumption and it was successful. We were out in groups 6. We were the fourth group and each group was assigned to a bench and then materials and equipment for the experiment were provided.

We were guided by the lab technician about how we are going to go about this work after which we were given time to start and work it on ourselves. We did this by following the instructions and were also guided by the teaching assistant in the laboratory.

In about 30 minutes we were done with our work and the results were recorded as usual. We submitted the results to our lab technician for confirmation and we were given the go-ahead that we got the right values.

Our results were confirmed and signed after which we went for the attendance sheet and signed against our names. We then took our lab notebooks to go and write the lab reports with the results we had. We were assigned three days to write and submit our report which we did accordingly.

It was a great experience having this practical, it really gave me the idea of how we can determine the concentration of a known analyte using the titration method, We should note that in order to find the titre value, it is advised to use the average volume of the analyte used which is then used to calculate for the concentration of the analyte.

Thank you, guys, for stopping by and reading my post. Look forward to seeing more of this coming up.
