First Clean-up exercise of the mosque and its environs after resuming first semester
Hello everyone, I am very excited to write and share my activity on campus with you all. As I mentioned in my first post in this community, I pledge to stay committed here so as to help in the growth and development of this community. Today, I would be sharing with you guys the clean-up exercise we involved engaged in after we resumed school for the first semester.
As it is necessary for us to always clean our surroundings, it is for us to clean where we worship our creator too. After two weeks of our resumption, we organized a clean-up exercise to clean the central mosque and its environs. We made an announcement about that on one Friday prayer so that we can capture most of the students to partake in this exercise. It was held on a Saturday and it started at 9 am after we closed from our Arabic class in the mosque.
We used to sit for Arabic classes every Saturday and Sunday in the mosque to learn about our religion as well. This is open to all students and also to the natives of Navrongo here. We started the clean-up exercise by bringing everything inside the mosque outside so that we can remove all the cab webs and other dirt. We removed all the mats in the masjid and
gave them out to the ladies to wash them.
We divided ourselves so that some can be weeding and others doing other stuff. We had some people doing carpentry work to repair the broken cardboard so it can use again. Others too were fetching water for the washing and cleaning of stuff. We also set fire around to burn all those unwanted materials in the mosque so that it doesn’t take up space in the mosque.
At the beginning of the work, we were few people that were working and it was really slowing down our work. In about an hour time, many people started coming around and our work was now made easy because we had many hands to do the job.
It was almost time for Zuhr's prayers and so we had to hurry so that we can finish it early. The ladies were cleaning the mats and also washing the ablution cans where the guys were doing the removal of the cab webs, the weeding, the carpentry work, etc. We also, went for a truck to come and convey the building materials and the building equipment that were used during the renovation process of the mosque.
We had some guys that could help us in that regard, we finished and it was time for prayers so we just prayed before everyone left. Not, forgetting we were given porridge our breakfast during our working. Some took theirs in the process and others too sent theirs to the house. After prayers, some of us stayed behind and folded the dried mats into the mosque before leaving. It was a tedious and tiring work indeed. I got home around 2 pm.
Cleanliness is next to goodliness. We have to clean our environments to have safe air to breath. Thanks for sharing this activity with us.
I love how y'all are like minded and United. Y'all came out to clean and I bet it was fun having many hands help out.
After resuming the first semester, the mosque community initiated its inaugural clean-up exercise, revitalizing both the sacred space and its surroundings. Volunteers meticulously swept the prayer halls, adorned with fresh flowers, while others meticulously tended to the gardens outside, ensuring a serene ambiance for worship and reflection. Amidst the diligent efforts, the importance of maintaining a pristine environment for spiritual practice resonated deeply. As the day concluded, members gathered in gratitude, reflecting on the significance of communal stewardship. Looking ahead, they committed to sustaining this practice. For maintenance issues, they turned to experts like Plumbing Angels https://plumbingangels.co.uk/boiler-breakdowns-and-repairs-tonbridge/ to ensure the facilities remain in top condition.
