Businesses make good use of social media extensively to sell their products to known and unknown authorities. The reason behind the use of social media is that social media apps have the highest most visited sites on the internet and with this companies could easily reach out to potential customers in an easy way without much stress. Even though there are many more advantages to the use of social media and its usage across different parts of the world, there are some drawbacks to it. Issues like malware attacks, fake news, fake profiles, and internet scams have been a problem to be solved while making use of social media.

The Rise of Social Media

Friendster was also part of the early site to make use of the internet and also had a significant impact on the development of Facebook. Both networks make use of email registration for sign-up and networking and they got a lot of active users to other sites.

LinkedIn came into existence in the year 2002 and was introduced as a networking medium for users with professional aspirations. LinkedIn grew over the years and had a lot more users across the globe. It serves as a home for employers who are outsourcing for employees to be employed and also job seekers make use of it as their favorite social networking site.

Just a matter of time, before some other social networking websites surfaced and failed also. But in 2003, MySpace was created for users to share their favorite songs and it also became the most visited website on the planet by 2006.

A year after my space began, Facebook was introduced and wasn't for the world to use but just opened to Havard students alone. But after a few years in existence, it was opened for all users and Facebook took the space. It made a great impact on the social network and took over MySpace which later shut down because Facebook became the number one media all over the globe without any competitor. Facebook remains the best and most used social media network to date with billions of active users on the site.

Social Media Into the Business World

Business didn’t pay much during the early days of social media innovation and this is because it never got the acceptance it needed. Brands could make use of it as a business card and anyone that wants to reach out to the company could just make use of it. The corporate world never capitalized on it yet, before it gradually became something that represented the globe virtually. Nowadays brands don't only make use of social media's business cards but have shifted their whole marketing campaign and marketing strategies around social media.

Social media allows businesses to conduct market research and also reduces the cost of marketing to allow them to focus on what their customers would like. For example, the use of Google Forms could go a long way by allowing customers to express their opinions and concerns to the company quickly and easily.

Social media and the internet have made it easier for businesses to reach out to international markets while they remain in their own space. Companies that are into the trade of digital goods like online lessons, ebooks, and software would benefit more because their products would be gotten directly without the need to be shipped to any part of the world through the power of the internet.

The Future of Businesses and Their Dependence on Social Media

Businesses of today have become so intertwined with social media in a way that it cannot be easy to separate these two entities. To have a successful business in this present era you must be relying on social media in one way or the other to get your way out. The more time passes the more the dependency of businesses on media. Just so it continues to serve its purpose of reaching out to the world and connecting every individual with the use of a medium called the Internet.

There are introductions of ads and that is another important aspect of the media. Ads can bridge the gap between demand and need in as much as they remain valuable and serve a purpose. There is a need for social media to be protected so that companies can reach out to bigger audiences without getting scammed.

The future of businesses will remain brighter as social media continues to improve over time. Advanced technology would also go a long way in assisting to upgrade and add more value to the integration of business and social media together as a tool for better life.
