AI doesn’t have a soul.
I watched a WhatsApp status a few days ago, it was about an interview with a human robot. It was asked how life being a robot was, and it responded that it couldn't wait to see what its relationship with humans would look like. But there was a clause in its statement, that said there is one thing that humans always have ahead of them and they can never have. So that one thing is the human SOUL.
No matter how improved and advanced technology might be, no matter how creative AI is, it will always have the setback of not having a soul just like humans.
Having a soul is something we would always have ahead of any form of AI. The way humans could think and assimilate will always differ from that of AI. And at the end of it, all humans who created AI will have to control it before it could work.
Though Artificial Intelligence has been in different ways assisting humans, that doesn't make them humans. Recently Artificial Intelligence has been used to create content, and arts, and also solve simple tasks way faster than humans and as programmed on them. AI can only be of assistance to humans but not a replacement for humans.
The reason why humans are created with a soul and AI couldn’t remain the reason why humans have emotions and AI can't. Humans' feelings are something so unique to humans, even animals have their feelings too, since they are created by nature. But AI can't because they are created artificially by humans.
Some of the attributes that AI can’t have are friendly relationships, love and empathy, care, sympathy, affection, and many other human traits. Our souls are what give us the ability to love one another.
For example, no matter how much AI is created, they can never have a family, they can't have a sibling, so how expected of AI that doesn’t have any of these to love each other like humans?? That's not possible.
I can't even imagine humans feeling automated. The way we get to show appreciation to each other, being grateful, celebrating, and rejoicing among ourselves, then all of these are now automatically present. These are just our unique traits as humans.
It's so hard to even believe that an Artificial Intelligence machine with no feelings gets into relationships with humans. Even the bond between humans and some animals like pets could be felt more than that of AI to humans.
In conclusion
I think it's best for the adventure of creating Artificial Intelligence machines to know their boundaries about humanity. We appreciate their existence but do not see AI going too far to become a replacement or replica of humanity. At best AI has no emotional connection nor they can't even have a soul to do that. So they just remain AI and we humans remain humans.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in hive learners community for the Week 116 Edition 2 and the topic to be discussed is WE NEED NO AUTOMATION

Robots have no emotion whatsoever and as such can never replace humans. It's crazy though how many humans would want to relate with robots instead of humans.
AI can never have a soul because it is made by humans. This is one part humans can never be like God, never. AI can only deliver tasks based on what humans require from it but can never have the feelings to interact with people.
