UFO, CCP Spy Balloon, Or Venus Over So. Cal Skies
There is a strange object I just noticed over the Southern California night sky. It's 8:43pm 5/3/2020 and this very bright object is stationary out over the ocean. I snapped these pictures with my Canon SX540HS at 200x zoom.
In this picture you can see the trees and just how bright the object is.
It sure looks like a balloon, unless my camera is doing something strange.
I just went online to check the current planet & star locations at https://theskylive.com/ . I input my location as Los Angeles and this is the result.
I'm guessing what I am seeing is Venus. I'm also realizing my camera is doing something weird with the light, unless it really is Venus in the images above.
It is very bright though and really had me thinking it might have been that CCP balloon that was spotted near Hawaii a few days ago, https://nypost.com/2023/05/01/us-military-tracking-mysterious-balloon-that-flew-into-us-airspace/ .
When I turned around I noticed the moon is pretty full so I grabbed a few shots of it.
What the hell is that? Center, left.
Looks like it could be a bird?
This camera is nice for crazy zooms.
Well, there is always interesting things to look at in the night sky, even if it's only our moon & planets.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is not Venus. The shape is a bit off in my view.
Great picture of the full moon, that's really a bird flying across the moon.
The only reason I didn't think it was a planet is because it was so bright. I'm going to check again tonight if t he rain clears.

Right. If it still looks the same then it's probably a planet. I heard that Venus is very bright when seen on the sky.
