[ENG-ESP] Krypton: A Superman Live-Action Series (REVIEW)

Do you think you've already seen all the Superman live-action material? Well, if you haven't seen this series, I invite you to know what it's about and why you should watch it as soon as possible. Krypton is a television show based on the story coming from the comics of the Man of Steel that narrates the events of his ancestors and how the House of El survived the revolutionary dictatorship of his home planet. Premiered in 2018 and with two seasons to date, Krypton is an out-of-the-ordinary series that will make you delve a little deeper into the DC universe.

¿Crees que ya has visto todo el material live-action de Superman? Bueno, si no has visto esta serie, te invito a conocer de qué trata y por qué deberías verla cuanto antes. Krypton es un show televisivo basado en la historia proveniente de los cómics del hombre de acero que narra los acontecimientos de sus ancestros y cómo sobrevivió la Casa de El a la dictadura revolucionaria de su planeta de origen. Estrenada en 2018 y con dos temporadas hasta la fecha, Krypton es una serie fuera de lo cotidiano que te hará profundizar un poco más el universo DC.

Cameron Cuffe stars alongside Shaun Sipos, Ang Ogbomo, Hannah Waddingham, Elliot Cowan and Sonita Henry in this series with very iconic characters that will make you relive good times that until now we have witnessed only in animated movies or comics. The first season breaks the ice by introducing us to the unknown with a villain that is hard to forget like Blake Ritson as Brainiac, the perfect hook from episode to episode.

Cameron Cuffe protagoniza junto a Shaun Sipos, Ang Ogbomo, Hannah Waddingham, Elliot Cowan y Sonita Henry esta serie con personajes muy icónicos que te harán revivir buenos momentos que hasta ahora hemos presenciado sólo en películas animadas o historietas. La primera temporada rompe el hielo adentrándonos en lo desconocido al presentarnos un villano difícil de olvidar, siendo, Blake Ritson en el papel de Brainiac es el enganche perfecto de un capítulo tras otro.

Seg-El is Superman's grandfather, who must face various challenges to reach the power of the House of El in this series, accompained by Georgina Campbell, Wallis Day, Rasmus Hardiker, Ian McElhinney, Aaron Pierre, Alexis Raben and Andrea Vasiliou in supporting roles. The main plot involves a member of the Justice League, Adam Strange, traveling to the past to stop a threat that affects the timeline and the very existence of the Man of Steel, projected into another galaxy, he finds himself with the duty to help repair the damage done to time.

Seg-El es el abuelo de Superman, quien debe enfrentarse a diversos retos para alcanzar el poder de la Casa de El en esta serie, acompañado por Georgina Campbell, Wallis Day, Rasmus Hardiker, Ian McElhinney, Aaron Pierre, Alexis Raben y Andrea Vasiliou en papeles secundarios. La trama principal implica a un miembro de la Liga de la Justicia, Adam Strange, que viaja al pasado para detener una amenaza que afecta a la línea temporal y a la propia existencia del Hombre de Acero, proyectado a otra galaxia, se encuentra con el deber de ayudar a reparar el daño hecho al tiempo.

We can appreciate a Krypton many years before its extinction, with an intelligent and developed civilization with so abundant technology, dominated by military forces. Much is made of religion in its first season through the character of Rao, who is the king of the planet at that time.

Podemos apreciar un Krypton muchos años antes de su extinción, con una civilización inteligente y desarrollada con abundante tecnología, predominada además por fuerzas militares. Se hace mucha inclusión en la religión en su primera temporada mediante el personaje de Rao, quien es el rey del planeta en aquel entonces.

The graphics compete with many series of the moment, and are very well elaborated, who accompany the serious tone of the same and the frequent scenes of action and persecution. The soundtrack and sound effects are at the top of their series, filling with suspense the moments of intrigue and combat of final relevance between chapters.

Los gráficos compiten con muchas series del momento, y están muy bien elaborados, quienes acompañan al serio tono de la misma y a las frecuentes escenas de acción y persecución. La banda sonora y efectos de sonidos están a tope con la misma, llenando de suspenso los momentos de intriga y combates de relevancia final entre los capítulos.

The best thing that this series has is the debut of many DC characters that the fans have been dying to see on the big screen, among them, Lobo, played by Emmett J. Scanlan, who gives a humorous touch mixed with a charisma that will be liked from the first moment. Among other important characters that also appear in it are Doomsday, Hawkman and Zod (Colin Salmon), the latter is motivated by control and power, becoming a dangerous opponent for his second season.

Lo mejor que tiene esta serie es el debut que hacen muchísimos personajes de DC que los fans han muerto por ver en pantalla grande, entre ellos, Lobo, interpretado por Emmett J. Scanlan, quien le brinda un toque humorístico mezclado con un carisma que caerá bien desde el primer momento. Entre otros personajes importantes que aparecen también en ella están Doomsday, Hawkman y Zod (Colin Salmon), este último, es motivado por el control y el poder, llegando a ser un oponente peligroso para su segunda temporada.

Jor-El, Superman's father, also makes an appearance in several chapters, but only in a matter of fractions of seconds. The sypnosis changes as the series progresses, becoming a series about fighting for freedom and ending slavery through rebellion, but without losing its essence. Also, if you saw the animated series of Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited you will be perplexed by the amount of cameos and references made from it.

Jor-El, padre de Superman, también hace aparición en varios capítulos, pero sólo en cuestión de fracciones de segundos. La sipnosis va cambiando a medida que va avanzando la misma, convirtiéndose en una serie de lucha por la libertad y acabar con la esclavitud mediante la rebeldía, pero sin perder su esencia. Además, si viste la serie animada de la Liga de la Justicia y la Liga de la Justicia: Ilimitada te quedarás perplejo de la cantidad de cameos y referencias que se hacen de ella.

Emphasis is also placed on the different planets that exist in the comics, the Phantom Zone, the moon of Krypton, Green Lanterns, Mongul and the Taragarians, evidencing the possible connections that this series may have in the future if a third installment were to be developed. The advanced holography technology used in the Fortress of Liberty by Kal-El has a fundamental predominance here as a source of information for the progress of the inhabitants' struggle for their independence on Krypton.

Se hace hincapié también a los diferentes planetas que existen en los cómics, la Zona Fantasma, la luna de Krypton, a los linternas verde, a Mongul y a los taragarianos, evidenciando las posibles conexiones que esta serie puede tener en un futuro si se llegara a desarrollar una tercera entrega. La avanzada tecnología de holografía usada en la Fortaleza de la Libertad por Kal-El tiene un predominio fundamental aquí como fuente de información para el progreso de la lucha de los habitantes por su independencia en Krypton.

Krypton is undoubtedly one of the best Superman origin story series ever created, although with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm, the whereabouts and development of the series are still unknown, but it would be nice to be able to delve deeper into the history of these characters at least one more time.

Krypton es sin duda una de las mejores series jamás creada de la historia de origen de Superman, aunque con James Gunn y Peter Safran al mando, aún se desconoce del paradero y desarrollo de la misma, pero sería bueno poder profundizar más sobre la historia de estos personajes por lo menos en una vez más.
