I am taking a longer break from blogging on the Hive blockchain (2024.06.08)

First of all, I am good, and my parent reared female Harris's hawks is also good.

I do not say that I leave this platform entirely/completely, but simply I am taking a longer break (probably months) from blogging on this platform.

Nowadays I spend very little time online, and I rather post on a platform, where the people actually care about the content. About my bird. About me.

So I continue to post somewhere else (mostly in private Facebook groups), where the people actually care about what I post.

They care about my bird, and about me too. They often ask how the things are going, how I am, if I have help. They write useful/helpful tips. And some of them even write private messages too to me. And they helpfully answer, if I ask something.

Unique content is standing out on its own on a properly working social network. Even with much less users in a group.

Hive is entirely different. Practically no one cares. Even about unique content.

They mostly comment only if we comment under their posts, and often their comment feels forced (not natural). Or when they try to get attention to their own posts (this happens mostly under the posts of people with higher amount of Hive power).

I do not know why. But this is the case. Probably the money ruins the real, genuine interaction on this platform. Money is both an advantage and a disadvantage too for this platform.

There is no point in posting on a platform, where the number of comments I receive with unique content (taming a parent reared female Harris's hawk) is mostly 0.

And earlier my 3Speak (ThreeSpeak) video views were also nearly 0. Also with unique content (two-way radioamateur contacts).

There were upvotes in both cases, but there were no real audience (with the exception of a very few posts).

Without real content consumers, there is no point, no motivation to post on a platform.

Even if I receive upvotes.

So I stop blogging on Hive for a longer period of time. Probably for months.

I started a 932 Hive Power down too.

Seeing the current Hive value ($0.28 USD), this is not much ($260.96 USD), but more than nothing.

And there is no point of having Hive Power, if I do not use the platform.

After the power down, there will be roughly 10 Hive Power in my Hive account, so it will remain usable, if I would like to use it.

And yesterday (on 2024.06.07) I withdrew $75 HBD from savings.

I will sell it, and I will use it on good things. Maybe on extending the aviary.

I will do the same with the Hive too, which is currently in the process of powering down.

In this way, at least I can write something (at least partially) positive. But this is the only (partially) positive aspect of this platform.

The money is both good and bad at the same time for this platform. Mostly it attracts greedy and selfish people. 99% content creators, 1% content consumers.

The end result is a high number of posts without any comments (in general). And the automatic upvotes is only boosting this. Many people upvote others automatically, without even actually checking their content.

So this is how one thing can be an advantage and a disadvantage too at the same time for a platform.

But there are much more important things in this world than money.

True love and true enjoyment in life. This is the most important thing in life. And this is why nowadays I spend very little time online. I spend most of the time with what I truly love and enjoy. With my parent reared female Harris's hawk.

By the way, I take a break only from the blogging on Hive.

Maybe I will still use the microblogging services from time to time (Ecency Waves, LeoThreads) for myself. Mostly as a backup for my photos.

Around 10 Hive Power will be enough to do that.

Probably no one will actually care about this post, but I still write the usual greetings at the end of my blog post.

And maybe I will return to blogging on this platform months later, if/when I will somehow have motivation.

Have nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

I do get engage with your post with Harris Hawk, I do not have a bird but seeing the way you care for your Harris Hawk and timely go to places with her, I was motivated and i was planning to get a bird just like her someday, now that you want to take a break, where would I derived those motivation from, I understand what you said, and some may be truth in some aspects, but that's it about life, it doesn't work mostly in the angle we thought is right, but the thing we mustn't ever consider is giving up on what we love to do, I do enjoy your post and all that you write, and I Wish you do not leave hive for that long. 🙏

I never considered giving up on doing what I love. I do what I love all the time. This is why nowadays I spend very little time online. I just simply prefer to write and post about it on a properly working platform (Facebook groups).

Better to do this with the very little time I spend online. I always receive meaningful comments there, while on the Hive blockchain mostly I do not receive comments.

I understand the feelings, but I want you around, let the little time you have for online activities be on hive, you might not know how many people you inspired on the platform, I am proud to say that, I am one of those person's.

Hive is entirely different. Practically no one cares.

Is the same in every social network, works by groups and interests, people search and watch what they likes and less than 10% leave a comment. For example you have to post in a privates groups on Facebook focus in birds to get that interest you want.

Not the same at all. The private Facebook group, in which mostly I post, currently has only 1200 members, while the Feathered Friends Hive "community" currently has 3549 members.

The less than 10% leave a comment is certainly true on the Hive blockchain, but not in the proper Facebook groups.

Much higher percentage of people are commenting on Facebook. Some of them even write private messages too.

If you have the same experience in the Hive blockchain "communities" and in the Facebook groups, then probably you are in the wrong Facebook group(s). Especially with unique content, which stand out on its own in the proper Facebook groups.

With the proper approach and usage, Facebook can be very useful in certain cases. But of course everyone is different. There are different platforms. And everyone find, which works properly/best for him/her.

Thank you.

I also hope. I wish that this platform would also properly work. The basic technological concept behind it is literally revolutionary.

Otherwise I would have already left it years ago, like many other people did. I registered on the Steem/Hive blockchain seven years ago (on 2017.05.17), and I saw many people leaving the platform only after a few months of posting.

Hope you come back to posting again, it's sad when anyone gives up on the platform but I can understand your viewpoint on it. If you're patient, you may be able to liquidate HIVE for more than $0.28.

I am very close to it, but I have not gave up on the platform completely, but honesty, currently I do not have much motivation to return in the near future to blogging on the Hive blockchain.

I will not spend much time on other platforms either. Nowadays I spend very little time online.

And I rather spend that very little time on a platform, where people actually care, and write meaningful comments.

Much better to see people around, who actually care, than mostly 0 comments.

And I see that one person downvoted this post, but this is the truth.

The general lack of the content consumers, the general lack of the real interest in the content is the main reason behind why the most people leave this platform.

you may be able to liquidate HIVE for more than $0.28.

Looking at this comment six days later... looks like it'll take quite a bit of patience to liquidate HIVE for more than $0.28

It's so sad to hear.😌 But for me, in my opinion, the Hive platform is better than my Facebook account, it's my only opinion. Here in Hive, you can read valuable information and content, while on my Facebook, all I can see is the bad news that happened to the world. Full of negativity. But, it's your decision, I hope you can give me a chance to engage in your work in the future.😊

I have different experience with Facebook. It is not full of negativity at all. At least not the groups I am in. Of course I am always happy to answer comments, but I rarely receive them on Hive, and this is why I take a break from blogging on Hive.

It's good to hear that you have a great experience of Facebook. So sad to hear about your experience in Hive, but you just did not meet the right people to engage. I think. 😊 Anyway, enjoy your vacation away from Hive. See you around.😊

Sadly I feel the same about Hive. It's disappointing so I don't bother much any more here either.

Many other people feel the same. Years ago I saw many people leaving the Steem/Hive blockchain, and the most people, who left the platform, left it because of this reason. Very sad. Especially for a technologically revolutionary platform.

Facebook is a place for friends, whereas Hive is an application for supporting authors you like with inflation rather than donation. We all cannot be the authors and the tail end of inflation makes it too low for us to care about Hive as a blogging back-end (at least with rewards). Judging from your reputation score, you had been supported and so I will follow you. If you do come back, I'll catch the next gem you post.

Now I post in Facebook groups. In foreign Facebook groups too. There are people there, who actually care. Most of them are strangers. Some of the strangers wrote private messages too to me.

I also started to upload YouTube videos again. The latter mostly for myself as a memory.

About the Hive blockchain support, it depends.

If you mean upvotes, then yes. I was supported.

If you mean comments, then mostly not.

I rarely received comments. Especially genuine, meaningful comments.

Even with unique content.

On ThreeSpeak (3Speak), the views were also very low. Nearly 0. Also with unique content.

Unique content stands out on a properly working platform. But not on Hive.

It was ignored/overlooked.
Mostly I received 0 comments.

This is why I took a break from blogging on the Hive blockchain.

And @erikah started even a downvote spree on my comments. Because the truth hurts her.

But this is still the truth about this platform.

And this is why thousands of people left (and still leaving) this platform.

I saw many people years ago, who left the platform only after a few months of posting, which is very sad.

I wrote for years. And mostly no one cared. With unique content.

Nowadays I spend very little time online.

And I rather post on a platform, where people actually cares.

Currently there is not much motivation to return to blogging on the Hive blockchain.

But we will see. Maybe I will return to it in the future.

Köszönöm. Én is minden jót kívánok neked.

Facebook-on Zoltán Krasznecz névvel találhatsz/találhattok meg. Bár sokszor inkább csak privát csoportokban osztok meg dolgokat.

A YouTube-on jelenleg két csatornám van.
