Vier Jahre später – wenn die Notstromversorgung selbst zum Stromausfall führt
Vor etwa vier Jahren habe ich mir eine Bluetti EB3A angeschafft und darüber bereits einen Beitrag geschrieben. Damals stand vor allem ein Gedanke im Mittelpunkt: Was passiert, wenn der Strom ausfällt?
Mein Hoftor wird elektrisch betrieben. Fällt die Stromversorgung aus, ist der gewohnte Komfort erst einmal vorbei. Natürlich kommt man trotzdem auf das Grundstück, notfalls über den Garten. Aber ich mag einfache Lösungen. Mit dem Auto vorfahren, die Fernbedienung drücken und das Tor öffnet sich – daran gewöhnt man sich schnell.
Die Bluetti EB3A sollte genau dieses Problem lösen. Mit ihrer USV-Funktion konnte sie bei einem Stromausfall automatisch die Versorgung übernehmen und den Torantrieb betriebsbereit halten.
Nun, vier Jahre später, endete diese Geschichte auf eine Weise, die ich nicht erwartet hatte.
Der nächtliche Stromausfall
Heute Nacht wurde ich gegen vier Uhr morgens geweckt. Ein Gerät im Haus hatte Alarm ausgelöst, weil die Stromversorgung unterbrochen war.
Zunächst war völlig unklar, wo die Ursache lag. Also begann die Fehlersuche. Ich trennte nach und nach verschiedene Geräte vom Stromkreis und versuchte immer wieder, die Sicherung einzuschalten. Ohne Erfolg.
Erst nach einiger Zeit kam mir der Gedanke, die Powerstation selbst zu überprüfen.
Dabei fiel mir sofort etwas auf: Keine Kontrollleuchte leuchtete mehr.
Ich zog die Bluetti vom Netz, schaltete die Sicherung erneut ein – und diesmal blieb sie eingeschaltet.
Der Übeltäter war gefunden.
Die Ironie daran konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen: Das Gerät, das eigentlich vor Stromausfällen schützen sollte, hatte selbst einen verursacht.
Während ich noch nach der Ursache suchte, wurde es im Büro übrigens zunehmend wärmer. Der Ventilator hing am selben Stromkreis und war längst ausgefallen. Geschwitzt habe ich in dieser Nacht also durchaus – allerdings nicht wegen der Fehlersuche.
Reparieren oder ersetzen?
Natürlich stellte sich sofort die Frage, ob sich eine Reparatur lohnt.
Doch schon die erste Recherche zeigte, dass Schaltpläne oder technische Unterlagen für das Gerät kaum zugänglich sind. Selbst wenn sich der Fehler lokalisieren ließe, bleibt die Frage nach der Wirtschaftlichkeit.
Meine Erfahrung mit Elektronik sagt mir, dass man häufig einen Defekt beseitigt und wenig später die nächste alterungsbedingte Schwachstelle auftaucht. Nach vier Jahren Dauerbetrieb als USV wäre das keine Überraschung.
Hinzu kommt, dass die letzten Tage ungewöhnlich heiß waren. Ob die Temperaturen tatsächlich die Ursache waren oder lediglich den letzten Anstoß gegeben haben, wird sich wohl nie sicher feststellen lassen.
Nach etwas Abwägen fiel die Entscheidung daher auf einen Neukauf.
Was brauche ich eigentlich wirklich?
Als ich damals die EB3A gekauft habe, spielte die Größe eine wichtige Rolle. Der Einbauort bietet nur wenig Platz in der Tiefe. Höhe und Breite sind dagegen weitgehend unkritisch.
Die naheliegende Lösung wäre das aktuelle Nachfolgemodell gewesen. Doch während ich verschiedene Geräte verglich, stellte ich mir eine andere Frage:
Brauche ich überhaupt wieder dieselbe Leistung?
Der Torantrieb benötigt beim Öffnen beider Torflügel maximal etwa 110 Watt. Die alte EB3A bot mit 268 Wh Kapazität und 600 Watt Ausgangsleistung deutlich mehr Reserven, als ich jemals genutzt habe.
Einer der ursprünglichen Gedanken war außerdem, die Powerstation auch im Camper einzusetzen. Tatsächlich ist das in den vergangenen vier Jahren nie passiert. Mein bestehendes Setup funktioniert unterwegs zuverlässig und bietet genügend Reserven für einige Tage Autarkie.
Mit jeder Überlegung wurde klarer, dass ich eigentlich kein großes Gerät benötige.
Die Entscheidung
Letztlich fiel meine Wahl auf die Bluetti Elite 10 Mini.

Mit 128 Wh Kapazität und 200 Watt Ausgangsleistung bietet sie für den Torantrieb mehr als genug Reserven. Gleichzeitig ist sie deutlich kompakter als die größeren Modelle.

Manchmal darf auch ein technisches Gerät etwas Charakter haben.
Rückblick
Wenn ich heute auf meinen ursprünglichen Beitrag zurückblicke, muss ich ein wenig schmunzeln.
Damals schrieb ich über Versorgungssicherheit, Unabhängigkeit und mögliche Stromausfälle. Die Realität sah anders aus: In vier Jahren hatte ich keinen einzigen Stromausfall, bei dem die USV tatsächlich gebraucht wurde.
Stattdessen war es die USV selbst, die mich eines Nachts aus dem Schlaf holte.
Vielleicht ist genau das die eigentliche Erkenntnis nach vier Jahren Praxis: Nicht jede Anschaffung wird jemals in der vorgesehenen Weise genutzt. Trotzdem kann sie ihren Zweck erfüllen, einfach weil sie im Hintergrund bereitsteht.
Und manchmal endet die Geschichte einer Notstromversorgung mit einem Stromausfall.

Absolut, und immer kleiner werden. Das Gerät kommt Ende der Woche. Bin gespannt.
Schon interessant wenn ich meine Torantrieb-Geschichte reflektiere. Zuerst eine schwere USV, dann umgestellt auf die kompakte EB3A und jetzt auf die Elite 10 Mini. oder in Zahlen ausgedrückt: 12kg -> 4,5kg -> 1,8kg. Und alles nur, weil der Hersteller für dieses Modell keine eigene Lösung bereithält. Ich bin zuversichtlich und wenn sie wieder 4 Jahre durchhält, bin ich zufrieden. Die Umgebung ist halt außerhalb. Zwar geschützt vor Sonne Staub und Regen, aber eben nicht gegen Temperaturen.

Das kann sich manchmalnecht als Schwierig erweisen. Wir haben gut 100 Sicherungen und ich weiß nur paar, für was/wo die sind.
Aber habe auch keine lust zu testen.
Ich habe alle Sicherungskreise beschriftet. Dennoch suchte ich zuerst in einem falschen Bereich, weil ich vergessen hatte, dass wir bei der Installation von Vodafone Kabel von einer Steckdose aus eine Leitung durch die Wand nach außen verlegt hatten, um den Empfangsverstärker mit Strom zu versorgen. Daran ist dann auch später die Stromversorgung für den Torantrieb abgegriffen worden. Nachdem ich die Aufzeichnungen zu der Sicherung genauer gelesen hatte, war es sofort klar.
Verstehe ich gut, aber ... ich lag innerhalb 15 Minuten wieder im Bett 😅
