To Enslave Or Be Enslaved By Technology
As Old As Time
Slavery has been in existence since the beginning of mankind. It’s a dynamic that naturally asserts itself against mankind and its inherent freedoms. To some extent, slavery has been done away with. However, it is still quite prevalent in certain jurisdictions around the world. It also exists in the darkness, where it cannot be seen or challenged. Human slavery is a sad reality by any definition.
It’s a dynamic that many men and movements have battled against throughout the ages. However, we now face a digital enslavement where individuals are caught up in digital expressions and activities. Technology is a tool and should be enslaved rather than enslaving others. That is the reality we as a global society are now facing. Are we to become enslaved to technology, or do we leverage and enslave it to our benefit?
There are only two possible outcomes regarding technology. It will soon be impossible to resist and exclude technology. For now, it is possible to a certain extent. However, the hour is coming when such an attempt will be futile. Technology will enslave and overpower you, or you will overpower and harness it to your advantage. Some may consider this a little extreme. However, that is due to perspective.
What’s Your Perspective?
If you envision the future through today’s lens then I can understand how you may think that to be the case. However, the future needs to be envisioned through technological advancement and hindsight. The future is beyond the present in more ways than time. Understanding this is how innovators are born. Innovators and their inventions are realized in the future not the present.
When Satoshi birthed Bitcoin, it was with the future in mind… the future we now experience. It was “unnecessary” in its conception and yet so vital today. That’s how the future unfolds. It is never “realized” in the present. And so technology will advance significantly in the coming years, along with its grip on mankind. The smart move is to begin harnessing technology now! Establish who the master and the servant are in the relationship before that decision is made for you.
This is where AI, WEB3, and other blockchain-based ideas can be harnessed, leveraged, and put to work with the future in mind. In other words, master these technologies now before they master and lord over you. I have often referred to the age of intelligence. An age governed by data and intelligence. this will be the apex of economic strength. Money will serve intelligence. He who gains access to intelligence and data will wield power.
Money will be dethroned, finding itself submissive to intelligence and data. Note how data-based behemoths like Facebook became so valuable… it was the byproduct of data acquisition. In other words, you can have money but zero intelligence and access to data. However, if you have the former you will also naturally acquire monetary wealth. Can you see how these two dynamics are fast becoming superior to money?
This may take some time before a critical mass is achieved, regarding a significant shift. However, AI will surge within the coming years, which brings me to my next point… the marriage of blockchain/WEB3 and AI. This will spark an acceleration in this shift. I have found myself challenged regarding AI of late. I need to conduct more research so I can utilize it more effectively to my advantage.
In many ways, it is already incorporated into much of what I utilize daily. However, there is a lot of scope and I need to up my game in this regard. Having the correct perspective can cause this shift to be incredibly beneficial. However, one has to envision the future and then plot and appropriate a course of action. After all, faith without works is dead.
Final Thoughts
The age of intelligence has commenced. However, we are still in the formative stages. Much will unfold within this decade and will simultaneously have an enormous impact on our everyday lives. You can’t stop the future but you can prepare for it. That is what many are beginning to do. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you in the next one. All the best!
