#ViernesDeEscritorio, Escritorio Mate Versión 1.26.0. Sistema Operativo de GNU/Linux.

Toma de Pantalla de mi Escritorio Ubuntu Mate.

Antes que nada cordiales saludos comunidad, el día de hoy es la primera vez que participo en esta iniciativa de #ViernesdeEscritorio. Lo hago después de recibir una invitación de @alberto0607, en donde nos invita todos los usuarios de #Linux, a dar a conocer los escritorios del Sistema Operativo de Linux (SO) que estemos usando.

En mi caso yo estoy usando el SO Ubuntu Versión 22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) de 64 bits, con un escritorio de nombre Mate Versión 1.26.0.

Por qué uso Linux:

Yo ingresé al uso de Linux, como usuario, en el año 2009, debido a un problema enorme que se me presentó en la universidad con mi tesis. Para hacer el cuento corto, llevé mi tesis en una memoria USB, para qué la revisará mi tutor en la universidad, la revisamos y me pidió hacer algunas correcciones, así que me fui a casa a trabajar en ellas.

Coloqué el USB en mi PC, y me informaba el Windows que había un virus, cometí el error de escanear con el antivirus el Pen drive, y después reinicié la máquina como lo pedía el antivirus, y hasta ahí llegó la máquina con Windows.

Al estar con la desesperación de haber perdido mi tesis, fui a casa de un vecino y amigo que estudiaba informática, le dije lo que me había pasado, me revisó la máquina, me dijo que debía reinstalar el Windows gracias a un troyano. Después me preguntó si tenía el Pen drive con la tesis, le dije que sí, pero que tenía el virus y que toda la información estaba corrupta.

Me lo quitó de la mano, lo metió en su PC, le dije que estaba loco, que le iba a dañar la PC, me dijo que a él no le caían virus, ya que usaba Linux, abrió la terminal, colocó unos comandos, su pc reconoció después mi Memoria USB y rescaté mi tesis.

A partir de ese día soy usuario de Linux, y el primer SO que use, fue el OpenSuse y después he venido usando varios de ellos, pero en la actualidad tengo dos años usando el SO, Ubuntu Mate, el cual fue creado por un desarrollador argentino.

Te invito a conocer y usar Linux, hay un mundo de cosas nuevas en sus sistemas operativos, tienes mayor seguridad, mayor rapidez, menos consumo de memoria, una cantidad enorme de software libre a tu disposición en cada SO. Sin contra los otros programas, ya sean pagos o gratuitos a los que puedes acceder y quedarás libre de los virus.

First of all cordial greetings community, today is the first time I participate in this #DesktopFriday initiative. I do it after receiving an invitation from @alberto0607, where he invites us all #Linux users, to give to know the desktops of the Linux Operating System (OS) that we are using.

In my case I am using Ubuntu OS Version 22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) 64-bit, with a desktop named Mate Version 1.26.0.

Why I use Linux:

I got into using Linux, as a user, in 2009, due to a huge problem I ran into in college with my thesis. To make a long story short, I took my thesis on a USB stick, for my tutor at the university to review it, we reviewed it and he asked me to make some corrections, so I went home to work on them.

I put the USB in my PC, and Windows informed me that there was a virus, I made the mistake of scanning the Pen drive with the antivirus, and then I restarted the machine as requested by the antivirus, and that was as far as the machine with Windows.

Being in despair of having lost my thesis, I went to the house of a neighbor and friend who studied computer science, I told him what had happened to me, he checked my machine, told me that I had to reinstall Windows thanks to a Trojan. Then he asked me if I had the Pen drive with the thesis, I told him yes, but that I had the virus and all the information was corrupted.

He took it out of my hand, put it in his PC, I told him he was crazy, that I was going to damage his PC, he told me that he did not have viruses, since he used Linux, he opened the terminal, put some commands, his PC recognized my USB flash drive and I rescued my thesis.

From that day on I am a Linux user, and the first OS I used was OpenSuse and then I have been using several of them, but now I have two years using the OS, Ubuntu Mate, which was created by an Argentinean developer.

I invite you to know and use Linux, there is a world of new things in their operating systems, you have more security, faster, less memory consumption, a huge amount of free software at your disposal in each OS. Without against the other programs, either paid or free that you can access and you will be free of viruses.
