What happens with the 3i/Atlas data.

What happens with the 3i/Atlas data.

The United States government remains closed, and to clarify, this is not the first closure, there were others with Republican and Democratic governments, in the previous ones no apocalypse occurred, although this closure seems like it will be a record, but here and now what this closure means is that many organizations like NASA, and there are many more also closed, but NASA, which is the one that is currently affecting us, is closed to the public, therefore, it does not publish new material.

Internally there are about 3,000 NASA workers still working, doing minimal services, that means that the space observatories are collecting information about 3I/Atlas, but until the government opens, we will not know anything, unless things are leaked, because we must also remember that there are many at NASA who have cosmos research in their blood and who right now will have their blood burning to analyze and investigate everything that surrounds 3I/Atlas.

But please, any leak that is from reliable sources, not from a random TikTok channel; and China, what about China? Because on social media they are constantly attacking NASA, but at least NASA has the excuse of the government shutdown. It should be remembered that the China National Space Administration, which is the Chinese Space Agency, previously announced its intention to carry out observations of the interstellar comet 3I/Atlas during its closest approach to Mars, which occurred on October 3, 2025 and was about 29,0000 km from Mars, in fact, it is the planet to which 3I/Atlas has passed closest.

And China wanted to capture 3I/Atlas by taking advantage of the unique position and capabilities of its orbiter, Tianwen 1, capable of capturing high-resolution data thanks to a camera called MoRIC that has similar capabilities to the IRIS camera of the Mars Reconed Orbiter or MRO, which is the orbiter that NASA has around Mars and that has collected information, but we cannot see it because the government is closed, however, as of November 3, 2025, China has not yet published any official information or public data on these observations. Because?

My opinion is quite prosaic, I think China hates admitting failures and it is possible that their probe failed when trying to take images of 3I/Atlas, that would be my option. Another option is that we have a very passionate image of Tres and Atlas because it is a very special object, obviously, but that is not the image that most astronomers have, for them, obviously, it is an extraordinary object, but they take it calmly and analyze the data and compile the information, well at a pace that for us is much slower.

This information that China has collected will surely end up coming out, but perhaps in the coming weeks or months and in scientific journals. Although these are just my opinions, I am not sure that either of these things is actually happening.
