THE IMPACT OF SCIENCE ON OUR FOODS

Science is one thing that I find really interesting personally and that's because of how it relates to literally everything in this life. The effect science has on our lives as humans is undeniable because it's in everything we can think of. Day by day we keep hearing of new inventions some that have even happened a long time before we even get to hear of them and it always leaves us amazed.

We get to understand more about life and our environment thanks to science. Now we easily get to find a solution to most of our problems because science has made solutions to them, thanks to so many great scientists that I've given themselves to so many experiments that I've become both unsuccessful and successful. When you get to meet with a true scientist, you get to see his or her passion towards inventing or creating something spectacular which most times are for the good of something.

Well, in all of these creations, we have come to see that these scientist are beginning to go beyond their boundaries just to prove that they can or they are gods too. I remember in one of my science classes, my lecturer tried to tell us of how science disagrees on how this Earth and humans were formed and most times I just smile because it only proves they are struggling with disbelief. The funniest part is that time and time again, they've failed in proving that theory right.

Sciences is a bedrock for letting imaginations run wild. These scientist are always thinking of ways to create something out of nothing and somehow they've deviated from the right part. They have gone far to create something that has more disadvantages than it's advantages and that has gradually caused a lot of problems to our world. There are so many areas I feel science has gone far but one major one is in the aspect of food processing and production.

Due to the so much knowledge some scientists have attained, they have gone to the extent of adulterating most of the foods we consume daily all in the name of making more gains, making goods more affordable and also showing their science skills. Daily, we've seen how the human health keep depicting on a daily basis and it has been proven that most of these things happen due to the nature of food we consume. Taking a look at our canned foods, one can only imagine the content of the preservatives used in keeping the food for a longer time than usual.

The effect of taking in most of these foods is seen clearly in the number of illnesses and diseases we hear of almost every single day. I remember in one of my biology lectures, we were told that it is now easy to produce a meat without an animal. I was so amazed hearing that and I can only imagine the amount of damage that would cause if it was really true. We keep consuming so many things that are totally unhealthy for us and it's all thanks to science.

Based on how much our food processing industries have been contaminated, I also still feel that scientist can also do better in giving us the best of the best with the knowledge they have than focusing more on making gains and endangering the life of everyone. Science is being felt in the food processing industries but in a negative way. If only they can be more considerate to look for a way to keep the food we consume safe that would go a really long way in preserving our health.

Humanity deserves better with all the knowledge we are exposed to but sadly it's hard to feel that impact positively because everyone is more concerned of themselves and their loved ones and think it's too expensive to care for everyone so they just get greedier and do what they want. Food is an essential in human lives so if science can develop more on improving the essentials of what we eat then it would go a really long way than science focusing on producing more drugs for the damages they've incurred through the food we consume.

This is my response to the Hivelearners topic on "SCIENCE TOO FAR".

No lies detected in everything you have said! Science has influenced what we eat so much and it just a matter of time before it becomes an issue. We are even getting used to using those things already, and releasing all those harmful chemicals into our bodies.

The adverse effects of all these are very scary and it doesn't even show on time. This explains why our forefathers used to live long for a very long time and nowadays, the life span of humans has drastically reduced🥺.

Exactly! Sadly we are acquiring knowledge and still using it to hurt our own selves. As it's going now it might be really hard to find a lasting solution but we can just be hopeful.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful contribution dear 🥰

You see the aspect of preservatives to good, they have gone really really deep and all these things comes with a Price.
I just hope a better approach is done to this

As I read your post I think of things like white sugar. It's amazing how much you have to do to get it that color and shape. It's application of science but with a noticeable effect on our health and our bodies. Regards @hopestylist

It is indeed amazing and in some places that's the major sugar they make use of.

Thank you so much for your contribution 🥰

The funniest part is that time and time again, they've failed in proving that theory right.

The actual funniest thing is that some creationists don't understand how the burden of proof works.

Science is for the betterment of human life and it works mostly to make our life easier and comfortable. But some theories are not fully proven by science and in such kind of place people naturally have disbelief. Nothing wrong with it.

It is but scientists are the ones trying to over do everything and there by causing harm at some point. Science is life so it has the potential of doing us good but some of those who practice it are trying to go over board.

Thank you so much for your beautiful contribution 🥰

Science has influenced most food we eat so much that it won't even be long before it will become an issue for us.

It's actually already becoming an issue, we've seen how the rate of cancer has increased in the past few years.

I feel we are conflating a lot of things here @hopestylist I completely agree with the situation currently, and related concerns. However it is not a science decision to put this together but rather a business decision. Preservatives were necessary for things not to go bad, and that has allowed a lot of people to get access to a lot of products which are not local to them. Similarly things like adding iodine in salt helped wipe out diseases in my country. Issue is that when marketing and sales get into picture they then can influence their employees to put together formulations that are either addictive, or cheaper, or tastier at the expense of good health. Science is like literature, or history, or language, there is no good or bad. There is just a process. How we use our scientific knowledge is up to us humans. Many have used science to move away from these products for eg. and create sustainable living without these stuff.

So while I agree with you on many 'innovations' and 'products' going too far, I think it is the modern capitalism that is more at fault rather than science itself. Maybe we can blame some scientists :D

Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife. You made me think on this post. Much appreciated.

You are right, science in itself is not the problem and that was why I tried to be specific at some point by saying scientists. All of this boils down to humans but then it's due to the knowledge of science that they have.

Thank you so much for your contribution 🥰

Our population globally is one of the problems we are having and the major reason why technology has manipulated a lot things regarding food.

It's annoying that people are being misled for selfish gains and I just hope we the consumers wake up because these people won't stop dishing out rubbish for us to consume.

Indeed, humans are the primary cause of all of these, we are the ones giving those scientists a reason to do what they do so we really can't blame them.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful contribution buddy 🥰

Knowledge should make better and not make worse, I agree with your point of view. Kudos.

Scientists are ambitious people and I love them for that. But people Like us cannot fit in sha, hehe
However, some of their trials have led to serious consequences to human life but of course the ratio is not higher than the goods they have done so kudos to them
We can only admonish them to be more careful and minimise the negative effects

Humanity deserves better truly. Scientists have gone too far in bringing harm to our foods all in the name of going deep for knowledge and in the end, greediness and selfishness creeps in making them feel less bothered about humans again but to make massive gains.

They need to do better and give humanity the best. We don't know much and they shouldn't use that as an advantage to make us suffer through our health because of the harm they are causing.

Science itself isn't the problem but some bad scientists and big corporations do not care about the long-term effect of their products on people. And I think a solution lies in identifying such products and finding a healthy alternative to bye cut them.

I know science can go weird but I never thought of producing a meat without an animal 😂 I still can't stop imagining it

Is it science or the people? I think human greed is the problem. We use science to perpetrate harm to nature and mankind. Then we go ahead and cry. It is because of science we are on this platform. Good thing.

Then we have people who want to control the world. Then they use science to sell bad food, drugs addictive substances, etc.

I'm not sure if I'm digressing but since it was part of your write-up, what is your most logical explanation of human existence?

If we all came from Adam and Eve, how do you explain race, color, and language? I ask this because I love to know different people's thoughts on that.

Now I've made a post under your post. Hehe

Yes it's not science it's humans that have knowledge of science.

We all came from Adam? Nope but sin came to the world by Adam. If you follow the story of creation you'd see that at some point there were other beings that dwell among men.

Adam is simply just the first man from which sin came in to the world and Christ Jesus is the man whom can save us from that sin.

Well, I do get your point and I don't mind the post under mine at all, hehe.

Thank you so much for stopping by 🤗

So did they come all from Adam? If so, how do we have whites, blacks, Hispanics, and languages if we share Adams DNA?

They didn’t come from Adam, unlike you and I, Adam was formed as a man but now we do have stages we pass through before we become adults and that’s the power of God, he knows best.

And using our immediate family for example, we can see that even amp some families there is still some lighter than some.

Adam was the one who was created first but when he gave birth to children those children gave birth to children and from there things kept changing.

I’m not sure why you are asking this but I’d say this is the much I can contribute to it and I hope it doesn’t make your faith waiver in any way.

This only shows how powerful and wonderful our God is, man can never fathom it all.

Hehe. I'm only interested in hearing other people's opinions especially since you disregarded the scientific perspective of existence.

I have a strong based faith but I admit that what different faith says doesn't explain completely the questions I asked. Every day, we seek knowledge.

Well, science have it's discovers and most of them are profound, the only problem I have sometimes is when they try to take the credit for it all, hehe.

Yeah, some questions can't be completely answered and that's why Paul said that all that pertains to live and godliness is what we can find in the Bible, so the knowledge we find there is more than enough to carry us through.

It's good to seek knowledge but we should be careful too because there are many knowledge that can be detrimental if we don't understand them as we should.

It's good to know you are interested in these kind of things 🥰

Like , how does people want to produce meat for human consumption without animal? This food processing has done more harm than good. This is why our fore fathers lived more healthier than us
I hope this area can be paid more attention to by scientists.

Thank you so much for stopping by my amiable ambassador 🥰

I believe the advent of science was to help make living comfortable, enjoyable and that's why you see so many developments in the areas of science today.
The knowledge they have was given by the creator so there's no way they will know more than him, try how much they can.
Science made way for foods to be processed and canned so they can be available when needed but the adulteration is solely the manufacturer's or producer's doing and the aim is to maximize profit forgetting the fact that everyone, including them and family members will be affected in the long run. It is a sad situation we've found ourselves in.

Science has definitely had a huge impact on our lives, helping us in many ways. But sometimes, it can feel like it's becoming overwhelming, especially when it comes to the food we eat. It's important for us, as humans, to know when to draw the line and find a balance. We need to know when and how to stop.
