Juvenile Golden Orb Weaver (Nephila pilipes)

Nephila pilipes, commonly called the golden orb weaver but more familiar as the garden golden spider, is a species of weaver spider belonging to the Nephilidae family, distributed in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and parts of Oceania. It is a species of giant orb weavers with large sizes commonly found in forests or gardens. The body length of females is approximately 30–50 mm, and that of males is 50–60 mm.

This one I think is still a juvenile spider because it is smaller than the average N. pilipes.

There are dense black hairy brushes on the spider's legs, and these will slowly disappear as the spider matures.

Despite being a juvenile spider, I think this little guy is too adept at building the web as his home which is also a 'death trap' for prey.

It's nice that you're not afraid of this kind of spider.
